Marco Lisi

GNSS Services Engineering Manager, European Space Agency

Dr. ing. Marco Lisi is presently the GNSS services engineering manager at the European Space Agency, in the directorate of the Galileo program and navigation-related activities. In this position he is responsible for the engineering and exploitation of services based on the European navigation infrastructures, Galileo, and EGNOS. He also serves as Chief Technical Advisor of the European GNSS Agency (GSA).

Lisi was previously responsible for the systems engineering, operations and security activities in the Galileo project. Since October 2012, he has also served as special advisor of the European Commission on European space policy. Previously, Lisi served as chief scientist for Italy’s Telespazio S.p.A. reporting directly to the company CEO. Earlier he was the company’s chief technical office and director of several space programs.

Lisi obtained a doctorate in electronic engineering from the University of Roma. He holds four international patents (with a fifth pending) and has authored more than 160 technical papers and conference presentations.
