The 2012 Munich Satellite Navigation Summit will take place at the Residenz Munchen in Germany from March 13 to 15. This year's opening plenary theme is "GNSS and Security."

This year marks the 10th anniversary of this key European and international event on the policies and direction of the global navigation satellite systems.

Planned 2012 discussions include:

  • Special session on Compass/BeiDou
  • Galileo and the publicly regulated service (PRS)
  • Prospects for the European Earth monitoring program (GMES)
  • GPS system modernization
  • New regional systems such as Japan's QZSS and India's IRNSS
  • Europe's GMES and the Public Regulated Service
  • GNSS maritime, aviation and land applications
  • Legal issues

The 2012 conference will also include an exhibition for industry and agencies and the opening of the 2012 European Satellite Navigation Competition.
