The GPS Wing has authorized publication of three technical documents with updated specifications for the U.S. Global Positioning System, including the next-generation GPS Block IIIA satellites now in development, the L5 radio link, and the new L1 civil signal  (L1C) that will be available with the GPS III spacecraft.

The documents are posted on a website developed by the National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Coordination Office and hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center <http://www.gps.gov/technical/>, along with the previous versions of GPS Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Specifications (IS), which are now superseded.  Document designations are IS-GPS-200E (GPS IIA), IS-GPS-705A (L5), and IS-GPS-800A (L1C).

A new section has also been added to the website regarding U.S. government continuity commitments for semi-codeless GPS users. The section includes the 2008 Federal Register notice and a 2009 notification letter from Gen. C. Robert Kehler, Air Force Space Command, on the subject.
