IET Seminar: GNSS-10, The Future of Satellite Navigation

The UK Institution of Engineering and Technology will sponsor a one-day seminar on Galileo and GNSS on Thursday, April 29 at the IET headquarters on the Thames Embankment,  Savoy Place, London.The event runs from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.

Speakers include GNSS experts EADS Astrium, Helios, Roke Manor Research Ltd, SSTL, Logica and University College London.

Morning topics cover applications and users:

  • What will Galileo mean to end users?
  • Protecting GNSS receivers from interference
  • Innovation using new GNSS signals with hybridized technology 
  • The Galileo space segment and provided services

In the afternoon, speakers will discuss bringing Galileo into operational service:

  • Galileo secrutiy issues and challenges
  • Security in the Galileo global navigation system
  • Development of the ground infrastructure
  • Galileo: the next 12 months - a view from the UK government

    The IET was formed in 2006 by the Institution of Electrical Engineers and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers. The UK professional society has 150,000 members in 37 countries.
