Bright Ideas Welcome at 2010 European Satellite Navigation Competition European Satellite Navigation Competition Awards 2009March 11, 2010

The European Satellite Navigation Competition (Galileo Masters), now in its seventh year, is seeking the best ideas for satellite navigation applications from companies, entrepreneurs, research institutes, universities, and individuals. Prizes total more than €500,000. The 2010 contest begins on May 1, when competitors may register and submit their ideas online at the secure ESNC website. It closes on July 31. Winners of the Galileo Master grand prize of €20,000, as well as regional and special topic prizes, will be recognized at an awards ceremony in the Munich Residenz, Munich, Germany on Monday, October 18, 2010. The Spanish high-technology company GMV S.A. won the Galileo Master Award, a regional award and a special topic award for its canine search and rescue positioning system in 2009. Nineteen regions in Germany, France, Israel, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom will offer prizes and support for winning ideas this year.. Special topic prizes include:
The competition has been organised by Anwendungszentrum GmbH (Applications Center) in Oberpfaffenhofen since 2004. The company is the first German incubator for the growth areas of navigation, satellite and mobile communication and geographic information.
