Marco Falcone

Marco Falcone is system engineering manager for the European Space Agency (ESA) in the Galileo Project Office in Noordwijk (The Netherlands). He received his master’s degree in computer science from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1987 and later earned a master’s degree in space systems engineering from the University of Delft, The Netherlands, in 1999.

At ESA, Falcone’s main task is to define the Galileo requirements and interfaces at the system level and to ensure that the Galileo system fulfills the required navigation and integrity performances. He is also coordinating the mission activities for the Galileo In-Orbit Validation Experiment (GIOVE) satellites, ensuring early validation of Galileo performance based on practical experimentation results.
