The annual European Satellite Navigation Competition looks for the best new commercial GNSS applications and location-based services ideas from all over the world. Winners receive prizes worth €1 million ($1.4 million) in business start-up aid and a cash prize pool of €100,000. In 2011, the ESNC attracted 401 complete ideas from hopeful entrepreneurs in almost 50 countries. More than 20 regional winners, six special topic winners and the grand prize winner — the GALILEO MASTER — are nominated by distinguished international experts. The competition is organized by AZO, a European Space Agency business incubation center in Bavaria.
